Photographer
Jack Parsons has spent a quarter of a century investigating
the light, landscapes and cultures of the American Southwest.
He is equally well-known for his portraits of Europe, Mexico
and Central America. Parsons trained in London as a filmmaker
and has worked both as a cinematographer and a director. But
he is most famous for elegant book photography, published by
Rizzoli, Clarkson Potter, and the Museum of New Mexico Press.
His
Atelier is dedicated to a special passion: the richness possible
with digital Iris prints. Because this inkjet process can
be carried out on a range of papers, it allows the power of
an image to be enhanced with texture. The Atelier consists
of separately curated series, each assembled from Parsons'
catalogue of fifty thousand photographs. Choices can be printed
individually or as a group; each is signed, dated and identified.
